Barcelona:
Barcelona is truly a european masterpiece when it comes to culture and architecture.
Let's take a thorough journey from the first day of jet lag to the unfamiliar person
spooning you like an uncle in unknown hostel. From the L'Aeroport del Prat (Barcelona's
Airport), take the train which will connect you to the city's subway line and drop
you off right in the heart of the city. Right off the bat find the "Plaza Catalunya"
where you can ask or grab a brochure for all tourist inquiries. If you want to blend
in with the locals, and know your places, then grab the city's map in any hotel
for free, just ask for "el corte ingles map". If no hotels are nowhere nearby, then
bars and lounges always provide brochures and tourist guides for free and usually
such places are filled with the locals. Barcelona carries a profound heritage in
Art and other cultural branches. Visit the art exhibits at La Pedrera and Caixa
Forum which are sponsored by bank entities, therefore leave your wallet in your
pocket.

Well after a very productive morning, it is time for lunch! Lunch is very different
in Barcelona compare to the rest of Europe. It begins from 1:30 pm - 4pm, which
means that all the local shops are also closed. Here in Barcelona tips are not as
obligatory as they are in the states, but if you feel like the waiter deserved it,
then why not treat him with a little fiscal love from the good ol' U.S of A! If
you want to dine or eat out in some authentic Mediterranean cuisine, then I urge
you to stay away from the center of the city, and enjoy the food where all the locals
come to dine, and best of all for less than $15. Gracia's bloc (neighborhood) is
full of tematic restaurants and hip bars to have a nice evenning with friends or
a romantic evening with your loved one. Ravel area is very common with the tourists,
and its very fond of pickpockets and thieves, so grab your taser. Use the subway
to get around for cheap, purchase a 10 trip metrocard and swap from train to train
without paying extra for transfer. Just like the subway in barcelona, the streets
are also very similar to Manhattan in New Your City, making extremely easy to get
around and meet the locals. If you're in Barcelona in summer time, hitting the beach
is very easy and not far in distance. Avoid Barceloneta beach which is contaminated
with people, and try out La Mar bella beach which is just breathtaking.
